Tiwal, the inflatable sailing dinghy
A French company has created the very first high performance inflatable sailing dinghy for water sports; it is designed to make navigation fun and simple and for the thrill of speed and glide. It’s versatile design allows for both high performance solo use and leisure sailing in pairs.
Tiwal 3.2 is 3,20m (10.5′) long and has a 5.20 m2 / 7.00 m2 (56 sq.ft / 75 sq.ft) sail. It is light, 50kg (111lbs), compact and folds away in two bags, each weighing 28 kg that can easily fit in the boot of a car. No trailer required!
It can be assembled and taken down in 20 minutes and once assembled, it is light enough to be carried by two adults.
It is designed for safety on the water. The V-shaped underbody is wide open to provide excellent stability. It also makes for a multi-purpose sailing dinghy, that can be used competitively in rough waters and for leisurely rides in calm weather with multiple sailors on board.
The hull is made from the same PVC material used in traditional semi-rigid motor boats, reinforced in multiple places with double or triple layers of PVC. The hull is guaranteed for one year against all manufacturing defects.
The TIWAL 3.2 recently won the Best Innovation award at the 2014 Boat of The Year contest by US magazine Sailing World,
