HEXIS HEALTH is a super-thin adhesive PVC film impregnated with an antimicrobial agent developed by French company Hexis to combat infection by microbes like E coli, staphylococcus aureus and MRSA.

It controls the spread of microbes day-in and day-out, and the protective function is guaranteed over its entire life span and requires no special cleaning.

The film can be easily applied on a wide range of surfaces, doors, walls, furniture, electrical appliances, door handles, toilets and screens, etc., and is recommended for use everywhere, where hygiene is paramount: hospitals and clinics, schools and nurseries, retirement homes, canteens, public transport and other places.

The covered surfaces require no particular maintenance or special treatment, and the antimicrobial protection does not need reactivating.

According to a study by the World Health Organization (WHO), each year some 50,000 people in Europe and 100,000 in the United States die due to Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI).

Treating patients with these hospital-acquired infections requires some 10 million extra patient days at an additional expenditure estimated at between 13 and 25 billion euros! "With their capacity to inhibit growth of a wide range of microbes, HEXIS Health PVC films are a very effective part of the defence against the spread of microbes and complement the strategy to fight HCAI according to best practices as defined by national, European and international institutions, e.g. Health First Europe, European Commission, WHO", says the company.
