Samsung’s youngest baby is a cell phone called Blue Earth, in order to make us aware that our blue planet is not inexhaustible.
It is the first full-touch-screen cell phone to run on solar power ever and this, plus its body being constituted of recycled plastics, makes it the most environment friendly device on the market.
Everybody agrees on the ecological aspect, whether to praise Samsung or to ridicule its green marketing attempt, but very few observers noticed that what made it so environment friendly was plastics for all of its green aspects.
The solar panel on the rear of Blue Earth generates enough power to allow 25 minutes of conversation after every hour of reloading. It is made of plastics, like most of the solar and photovoltaic panels of the new generation. Hear Hear! Isn’t that a way to have you look at plastics differently?
